Port Said Gears Up for 4th Smart Green Projects Initiative, Welcoming Innovators

Preparations are in full swing across governorates for the launch of the fourth round of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects. This aligns with the state's direction to expand projects that support the shift towards a green economy and encourage innovation in sustainability. The goal is to transform promising ideas into viable projects that contribute to sustainable development goals. In this context, Major General Moheb Habashi, the Governor of Port Said, met with a delegation from the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects. They discussed the preparations for launching the fourth round's activities in the governorate, the mechanisms for holding introductory meetings, and coordinating the stages for receiving participating projects. The meeting was attended by Major General Amr Fikry, the Secretary-General, and Dr. Menna Allah Yahya, Operations Director and Deputy Executive Director of the Initiative at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, along with representatives from the Ministries of Planning and Communications and other relevant bodies. The Governor of Port Said emphasized that the initiative serves as an important platform for discovering innovative ideas and projects and turning them into practical models. This boosts development opportunities and harnesses the creative energies of youth, researchers, entrepreneurs, and various participating entities.

Supporting the Shift Towards a Green Economy

The Governor highlighted the governorate's commitment to providing all necessary support to ensure the initiative's success. This commitment stems from the state's drive to promote a green economy, encourage innovation, and back projects that help address climate change impacts and achieve sustainable development goals, all in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 targets.

Introductory Meetings Kicking Off

The introductory meetings for the fourth round of the initiative are scheduled to begin today, July 13, 2026. These meetings aim to inform participants about the initiative's objectives, key areas, participation categories, application conditions and criteria, and the benefits offered to submitting projects. The meetings also seek to encourage innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and various organizations to participate and register through the initiative's website. This will help expand the base of smart green projects and support innovative solutions in sustainable development fields.
