Al-Ahram Beverages Company, in collaboration with the Agricultural Research Center (part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation) and Sahara Egypt for Agricultural Development, recently celebrated the start of the 2026 barley harvest season. This field event took place at Sahara Egypt's farms in the East Owainat area. This event is part of a sustainable barley cultivation program that the three parties have been implementing for several years. Their goal is to develop local barley farming and connect scientific research with industrial needs, which helps support supply chains and boost local production of raw materials for the malt industry. During the event, attendees observed the harvest process firsthand and reviewed the results of the research and practical collaboration between the Agricultural Research Center, the industrial sector, and agricultural partners. This represents an integrated model that brings together scientific research, industrial implementation, and agricultural application on the ground.
