Egyptian Startups: Apply Now for Web Summit 2026 to Boost Global Reach

The General Division for Digital Economy and Technology at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce has announced that applications are now open for Egyptian startups and tech companies to participate in the Egyptian pavilion at Web Summit 2026. This exciting event is set to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from November 9 to 12, 2026.

This participation is part of the ongoing collaboration between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the General Division for Digital Economy and Technology at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce. This marks the seventh consecutive year for Egypt's pavilion at the exhibition, ever since its launch in 2019.

The main goal is to support Egyptian startups, boost their competitiveness in international markets, open new avenues for global expansion, and attract foreign investments into Egypt's communications and information technology sector.

Ahmed El Wakil, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, emphasized that the Federation is deeply committed to supporting the digital economy sector. He sees it as a key driver for economic growth and increasing exports. He also noted that Egypt's continued participation in Web Summit highlights the successful partnership between state institutions and the private sector in strengthening Egypt's position as a regional hub for technology and entrepreneurship.

El Wakil added that the Federation is keen on providing all kinds of support to Egyptian companies. This helps them compete in global markets and connect directly with international investors and partners, ultimately attracting new investments and fostering the growth of Egyptian tech companies.

Meanwhile, Eng. Khalil Hassan Khalil, Head of the General Division for Digital Economy and Technology, stated that Egypt's participation in Web Summit has become one of the most crucial tools for helping Egyptian startups go global. He explained that the exhibition offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase Egyptian innovations to major investors, venture capital funds, and global companies.

He further mentioned that the Division, in cooperation with ITIDA, works to select the most globally ready companies. This boosts their chances of forming strategic partnerships, attracting new investments, and accessing international markets. He stressed that building a strong presence for Egyptian companies at global forums is a key pillar for developing Egypt's technology industry.

Web Summit is truly one of the world's largest technology events, drawing over 70,000 participants from more than 160 countries annually. It brings together over a thousand speakers, including global tech leaders, decision-makers, and investors, to discuss the latest trends in artificial intelligence, computing, digital infrastructure, tech policies, and sustainability.

The exhibition also serves as a global platform for startups to showcase their innovative products and solutions to investors and international organizations. They can also participate in global entrepreneurship competitions, most notably the "PITCH" competition, which is renowned for discovering promising companies worldwide.

Applications for the Egyptian pavilion will be accepted until July 22nd. You can apply through this link.
