Comfi was founded based on direct experience with the cash flow challenges faced by small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). Sanger Sameh, Co-founder and CEO, explained that waiting periods of up to 90 or even 160 days to collect receivables are a real obstacle for companies looking to invest in inventory, hire talent, or seize growth opportunities. He added that Comfi addresses this issue by combining embedded finance with AI-powered risk assessment models, allowing businesses to access capital quickly and without the complexities of traditional procedures. From the investors' perspective, Christos Mastoras, Founder and Managing Partner at Iliad Partners, stated that their investment in Comfi is part of a strategy to support companies contributing to the digitalization of the financial infrastructure in the region. He noted that Comfi offers a clear model for tackling one of the biggest challenges related to SMEs accessing working capital. Meanwhile, Armina Bagoumian from Partners for Growth affirmed that Comfi's strong model and innovative approach reflect the team's ability to turn vision into practical reality, aligning with the trend of supporting fast-growing companies in the region. Comfi relies on data analysis and artificial intelligence for creditworthiness assessment. This allows for faster financing decisions compared to traditional systems, reducing procedural complexities, shortening approval times, and increasing the accuracy of risk assessment. This really highlights the gap between modern digital models and traditional financing approaches. Following its new funding round, the company plans to direct investments towards developing its underwriting and risk management capabilities. It also aims to expand its financing products and accelerate its growth in regional markets, with the goal of building an embedded finance platform that can integrate directly into companies' daily operations, rather than just being a separate financing solution.
