Dr. Ahmed Rustom, Egypt's Minister of Planning and Economic Development, recently met with several leaders from the financial and technology sectors to explore ways to boost cooperation in electronic payments. This important meeting was attended by Ashraf Negm, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the National Investment Bank. Also present were Osama Saleh, Chairman of Ayady for Investment and Development; Rafeh Saleh, CEO of the Entrepreneurship Sector at NI Capital; Hazem Saafan, Chairman of Sahl Electronic Payments Company; and Dr. Heba Zaki, Director of the Egypt Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, along with other ministry officials. The discussion covered developing the electronic payment system, improving the efficiency of services offered to citizens, reviewing the investment progress of entities affiliated with the National Investment Bank, and efforts to boost the environment for entrepreneurship and innovation. Dr. Ahmed Rustom emphasized that the state places great importance on digital transformation and improving government services as a key pillar of sustainable development. He noted that collaborating with FinTech companies is crucial for supporting plans to develop digital infrastructure and achieve financial inclusion. In response, representatives from the attending companies affirmed their commitment to supporting the state's efforts in this area and providing technological solutions that help simplify daily services. The meeting also featured discussions on mechanisms for expanding electronic payments for government services and a review of Sahl's latest digital payment technologies.
