As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the investment ecosystem for fast-growing companies in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Venture Capital (SVC) has announced its investment in the 'Growth Catalyst Fund.' This private equity fund is managed by Growth Catalyst Investment Company, which is licensed by the Capital Market Authority (CMA). The main goal is to support companies in their expansion phases and boost their operational capabilities and competitiveness within Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries. The fund specifically targets companies that have reached advanced stages of growth. It provides them with capital, along with operational support and management expertise. This comprehensive approach helps accelerate their expansion plans, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen their presence in both regional and international markets. 'Growth Catalyst Fund' is strategically focused on several key sectors, including healthcare, education, consumer goods, defense industries, energy and environment, and the food and beverage sector. The fund is always on the lookout for investment opportunities that show high potential for sustainable growth and expansion. Noura Al-Sarhan, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Saudi Venture Capital, explained that this investment is a natural extension of SVC's role in developing the private equity market in the Kingdom. She highlighted its particular importance for the growth stage, where there's increasing demand from scalable companies. She added that empowering fund managers to invest at this stage helps accelerate the growth of national companies and enhances their ability to compete regionally and globally. This perfectly aligns with the economic transformation goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. Turki Al-Dayel, Founder and CEO of Growth Catalyst Investment Company, shared his thoughts, stating that this partnership reflects a shared belief in how vital the mid-sized company sector is for economic growth. He sees it as one of the main engines for achieving the ambitious targets of Vision 2030. He further clarified that the fund focuses on supporting companies as they transition from expansion to institutional maturity. It does this by providing long-term capital and adopting an active investment approach designed to maximize value across promising economic sectors within the Kingdom. Saudi Venture Capital is a leading force in supporting the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Established in 2018, its mission is to stimulate and sustain funding for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through investments in funds and direct investments across various growth stages.
