RASPIRE Makes History: First Cybersecurity Startup from Egypt & MENA to Join Y Combinator

Hassan Mostafa, the entrepreneur, co-founder, and CTO of RASPIRE, announced that his company has joined Y Combinator, one of the world's largest startup accelerators. This makes RASPIRE the very first cybersecurity company from Egypt and the wider region to be accepted into the program. He described this achievement as a success on their first attempt, which is quite rare, as many companies often need several tries before getting in.

This milestone is a testament to the company's journey since its founding. Co-founders Hassan Mostafa and Karim started RASPIRE with a clear goal: to develop, produce, and export Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity solutions from Egypt to global markets. Their focus is on building globally competitive technology right from the region, rather than just consuming it.

Mostafa explained that he has extensive experience in cybersecurity, dating back to 2018. During this time, he participated in over 20 hackathons and CTF (Capture The Flag) competitions both inside and outside Egypt. He and his team have achieved several successes in international competitions organized by major entities like Google, the UN, Trend Micro, Dell, and Kaspersky.

Currently, he serves as the Co-founder & CTO of RASPIRE. He emphasized that his vision is based on the principle that "the charity of knowledge is its dissemination," which he practices through sharing knowledge and volunteering, having largely avoided media appearances in recent years.

He added that the upcoming phase will see an even greater focus on entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The aim is to support the region's transformation from a technology consumer to a producer and exporter. He noted that appearing on Y Combinator's platforms seemed like a distant dream just two years ago, but today, it has become a tangible reality.
