The Libyan Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction, part of the Government of National Unity, has announced that the next phase of urban development will heavily rely on boosting innovation and expanding strategic partnerships. This approach aims to support reconstruction efforts, improve the efficiency of sustainable development across the country, and give entrepreneurs and innovators more opportunities to get involved in urban development projects. This announcement came during the "Mahara for Urban Technology" initiative, hosted in the capital city of Tripoli. The event saw the participation of Eng. Issam Al-Tamouni, Minister of Housing and Reconstruction, and Dr. Sophie Kemkhadze, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya. The initiative is part of broader efforts to support development and strengthen national capabilities in urban planning and development. Minister Al-Tamouni praised the collaboration between the UNDP and Libya Spider company for launching this initiative. He emphasized that it highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in fostering innovation and empowering national talent. He also acknowledged the significant role the UNDP plays in supporting development and construction projects throughout Libya.
