The government is continuing to reshuffle executive leadership in economic and development entities. This move aims to boost the efficiency of institutions that support investment and entrepreneurship, aligning with the state's goal to expand the base of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and increase their contribution to economic growth and job creation. In this context, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly issued a decision appointing Dr. Mostafa Ismail as the new CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), succeeding Dr. Bassel Rahmy. This evening, the Prime Minister welcomed Dr. Mostafa Ismail, the new CEO, and Dr. Bassel Rahmy, the former CEO, as part of the handover ceremony for the agency's leadership.
Praising Bassel Rahmy's Achievements
During the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Bassel Rahmy during his tenure as head of the agency. He praised the significant improvements in the work system and the enhanced role of the agency in supporting the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise sector.
The Prime Minister noted that during the past period, the agency successfully expanded the scope of financial and technical services and programs offered to project owners. This significantly contributed to supporting one of the most crucial sectors for stimulating economic growth and creating job opportunities.
Madbouly emphasized that these achievements provide a strong foundation to build upon in the upcoming phase. He wished Bassel Rahmy success in his future endeavors and commended his dedication and contributions throughout his leadership of the agency.
Continuing the Development Journey and Supporting Entrepreneurs
The Prime Minister congratulated Dr. Mostafa Ismail on his new appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to continue the development journey and build upon the agency's achievements. This will further strengthen its role in supporting entrepreneurs, youth, and owners of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
He affirmed that the next phase requires continued development of the agency's operational mechanisms, enhancing the efficiency of services provided to citizens, and expanding access to funding, technical, and marketing support for project owners. Additionally, it calls for strengthening coordination with various relevant entities to support the implementation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to prioritize the SME sector and maximize its contribution to the national economy.
Madbouly added that supporting this sector is one of the main pillars for achieving economic development, increasing employment rates, and boosting local production, all in line with the state's goals for sustainable economic growth.
