Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hendy, recently witnessed the signing of license additions for the "Etma'en" and "Etma'en Ala Al Akhar" services, widely known as the "Child SIM." These services were launched following directives from the political leadership to boost children's online safety. They are specifically designed to give children a much safer digital environment when they use mobile internet.
The signing ceremony was attended by several key figures: Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA); Tamer El Mahdy, Managing Director and CEO of Etisalat Misr; Hisham Mehran, Chief Business Officer of Orange Egypt; Hazem Metwally, CEO of e& Egypt; Karim Eid, Chief Commercial Officer of Vodafone Egypt; Nidal Taha, Founder and CEO of KidsOnNet; and Mostafa Eissa, CIO of SeeShield.
