Konecta Invests $100 Million in Egypt, Launches Global Generative AI Center

The outsourcing industry in Egypt is no longer just about technical support and customer service. It's now a magnet for advanced technology investments, especially with global company Konecta opening its regional headquarters in the Egyptian market. This is part of a $100 million investment plan aimed at boosting its global operations through AI solutions and digital services. Konecta's regional headquarters opening is the culmination of a Memorandum of Understanding signed in January 2025 between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Konecta Group. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, was present at the signing. The goal is to launch the company's operations in Egypt and establish a regional hub to serve markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, all starting from Egypt. Konecta is a global leader in outsourcing services and digital customer experience solutions powered by AI. The new headquarters in Egypt will be a pivotal center for its international operations and will also house the group's first global Generative AI Center of Excellence. This new Center of Excellence will focus on designing, developing, and deploying advanced Generative AI solutions to support the company's global operations. This move will significantly boost Egypt's ability to attract high-value tech investments and help it become a regional hub for developing and exporting advanced digital solutions. Konecta's regional headquarters in Egypt currently employs around 800 skilled Egyptian professionals. They provide AI-powered digital customer experience services and multilingual customer management in Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch. They also work on developing digital transformation solutions, big data analytics, cybersecurity, IoT, and technical support. The company plans to grow its workforce in Egypt to about 3,000 specialists by the end of 2028. This is part of its strategy to expand its services to global markets from its regional center in Egypt, leveraging local talent in technology, telecommunications, and digital services. Egypt's selection to host Konecta Group's first global Generative AI Center of Excellence highlights the growing appeal of the Egyptian market to international tech companies. This is especially true given the government's expanding support for the outsourcing industry and its encouragement for companies to export digital services and advanced technological solutions. The expansion of global company investments in the outsourcing sector also reflects the success of efforts to build a comprehensive ecosystem capable of attracting investments and providing high-value digital services to international markets. This, in turn, supports the growth of the digital economy and strengthens Egypt's position as a regional hub for the technology industry.
