How Mentoring Platform's 'Mentoring Map' is Reshaping Professional Guidance in Egypt and the Middle East

Mentoring Platform is getting ready to host its "Mentoring Map" event on Saturday, May 2, 2026. This will be the first event of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East, aiming to reshape the concept of professional mentorship and improve how expertise is shared within the business world. This event comes at a time when the job market and entrepreneurship scene in Egypt and the region are seeing significant changes in how skills are developed and knowledge is transferred. Professional mentorship has become a key tool to support the growth of both individuals and companies. However, the current situation shows a gap in understanding and application, as mentorship is often seen as temporary support sessions rather than a practical, experience-based learning process. With this in mind, the Mentoring Map event aims to offer a deeper and more accurate understanding of mentorship. It will do this by launching the "Mentoring Map Guide," which highlights best practices, explores the history of professional mentorship, and clarifies the key differences between it and traditional learning methods. A special focus will be placed on the "Learning by Doing" concept as a fundamental pillar for development. The event's agenda includes several main topics, such as a detailed presentation of the new guide and a review of the mentorship methodology approved by the International Mentoring Center. Dr. Tuba Ansari, the COO of the center, will be attending. The event will also cover Mentoring Platform's vision and its current and future role in building a comprehensive mentorship system in the region. The event is expected to welcome around 200 influential participants from the business community. This includes mentors from over 24 different fields, representatives from incubators and accelerators, university decision-makers, and entrepreneurs. In this regard, Mahmoud Qalqila, founder of Mentoring Platform, shared, "Unfortunately, the concept of professional mentorship is still unclear to many in Egypt and the Middle East. It's often treated superficially, which doesn't reflect its true value. What we're working on today is reintroducing this concept in a practical way, based on transferring real experience, not just offering advice." These efforts reflect the findings of extensive studies and analyses conducted by Mentoring Platform. These studies highlight the tangible impact of structured mentorship programs, showing retention rates of up to 72% among participants, compared to 49% for non-participants. Data also revealed that companies implementing mentorship programs achieve up to 18% better financial performance compared to the market average, while these indicators decline for companies that don't adopt this approach. The Mentoring Map is a unique event that aims to redefine professional mentorship in Egypt and the Middle East. It seeks to establish it not just as a theoretical concept, but as a practical, sustainable system focused on transferring knowledge and building capabilities within the business environment.
