Egypt Gears Up as Regional Innovation Hub, Set to Host Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2026

Dr. Hussein Issa, the Deputy Prime Minister, announced that Egypt's hosting of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival in 2026 truly reflects the growing international trust in Egypt's strong economy and its ability to attract big global events. During his speech at the official announcement conference, he mentioned that this event highlights Egypt's rising status as a regional hub for innovation, investment, and empowering startups. He emphasized that entrepreneurship has become one of the most important drivers of economic growth worldwide. Dr. Issa explained that the government sees entrepreneurship as a key pillar for boosting productivity and building an economy based on knowledge and innovation. He pointed out that the government is working hard to develop a complete system to support entrepreneurs, make it easier to do business, and improve access to funding and markets. He stressed that choosing Cairo to host the festival reflects Egypt's economic, human, and institutional strengths, along with the significant improvements in infrastructure and the investment climate recently. He also noted that launching the Startup Charter is a major step forward and sends a clear message that the government is a supportive partner for innovators and entrepreneurs. He added that the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship is working to unify policies and boost dialogue with the startup community, which will help create a more competitive and attractive business environment for investment and innovation. Finally, he said that the festival will be a global platform bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and funding institutions. This will open doors for building strategic partnerships and increasing investment flows into the African continent.
