In a move that shows Egypt's commitment to boosting its innovation ecosystem, Dr. Mohamed Farid, the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, met with officials from Egypt's Sovereign Fund. Representatives from the Financial Regulatory Authority also attended the meeting. The purpose was to follow up on setting up a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) that aims to invest in venture capital (VC) activities by acquiring Egyptian startups.
