Egypt's New Plan: Financial Literacy in Schools to Spark Young Entrepreneurs, with FRA and Sprex Support

The historic Egyptian Exchange (EGX) headquarters recently hosted a special event: the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement was made between Egypt's Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Japan's Hiroshima University, and Sprex Japan. The main goal? To boost financial literacy among school students, with technical support from the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA). This is all in preparation to integrate these important concepts into the second-grade secondary school curricula. This exciting development is a significant step forward in updating educational curricula and improving the entire education system. It will help strengthen students' core skills and is also a continuation of the FRA's ongoing efforts over the past years to spread financial awareness through various initiatives and programs aimed at different groups. Dr. Islam Azzam, the head of the Financial Regulatory Authority, shared his excitement about launching this initiative. He emphasized that including financial literacy in school curricula is a crucial move to spread financial awareness within schools. He sees it as a fundamental foundation for preparing young people for careers in investment and entrepreneurship. Dr. Azzam also highlighted the FRA's commitment to providing full technical support to ensure this program's success, alongside launching even more initiatives in this area.
