As part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to boost digital transformation and simplify the business environment, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) is working to raise awareness about its newly launched Electronic Investment Licensing Platform. This platform is a key tool designed to make it much easier for investors to get the licenses they need to start their investment activities.
This platform marks a significant leap forward in how licenses are issued. It's the first unified electronic portal offering 460 services, including licenses, approvals, and permits needed to conduct economic activities in Egypt. These services come from 41 different government bodies, all accessible through one digital window at https://tracklicence.gafi.gov.eg
This initiative will save time and effort, boost transparency and good governance, and reduce reliance on paperwork and traditional procedures.
GAFI developed the platform in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and in partnership with the various licensing authorities. This is all part of the state's broader efforts to create a more efficient, transparent, and attractive business environment for both local and foreign investments.
The investment licensing platform offers a complete online experience. Investors can register, choose the right activity and license, upload required documents, and pay fees electronically. They can then track their application in real-time and receive their final license without needing to visit different government offices repeatedly. Plus, licenses can be issued in less than 20 working days, provided all documents are complete.
GAFI emphasized that launching this platform aligns with the goals of Egypt Vision 2030. It reflects the government's commitment to improving the investment climate and enhancing the efficiency of government services for both local and foreign investors. This will ultimately boost the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy and encourage more investments.
GAFI invited investors and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the platform's services and explore its benefits. They highlighted it as a supportive tool for starting new projects and expanding investment activities across various sectors. GAFI also noted that technical support and answers to inquiries would continue to be available through official channels and a dedicated hotline.
The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones reaffirms its commitment to continuously developing digital platforms and electronic services. This ensures Egypt keeps pace with global advancements and makes doing business in the country even easier.
