Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, recently held a meeting with top leaders from Vodafone Egypt. They got together to explore ways they could work together on digitization, digital transformation, and developing new technology solutions. The goal is to make services more efficient and simplify procedures for everyone.
Developing Government Services
The Minister highlighted that the Ministry is actively expanding the use of digital solutions and connecting relevant government bodies electronically. This will help speed up processes and cut down on time and costs for investors and other stakeholders. He also stressed how important it is to team up with the private sector to use their modern technological expertise to improve government services.
The meeting included several key figures from the government side: Dr. Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones; Engineer Essam El Naggar, Head of the General Organization for Export and Import Control; and Dr. Abdelaziz El Sherif, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Representation Office. Also present were Mr. Mohamed Ayyad, Assistant Minister of Investment; Engineer Sherif Yehia, Assistant Minister of Investment for Digital Transformation; and Dr. Yasmine Yamani from the Assistant Minister's Office for Development and Digital Transformation.
The Vodafone Egypt delegation also had a strong lineup, including Mahmoud El Khatib, Vice President for the Business Sector; Mamoun Kaddah, Head of Sales; Mohamed Balbaa, Head of Cloud Computing and Integrated Solutions; Hisham Refaat, Senior Manager of Public Affairs; Ramy Attallah, Senior Manager of Government Sector Sales; Ramez Hany, Senior Manager of Integrated Solutions; Ahmed Hamdy, Senior Manager of Solutions Engineering; Khaled Gad, Senior Manager of Digital Transformation; and Mahmoud Sabry, Deputy Manager of Public Affairs.
The Regulatory Lab for Trade Technology
The Minister also mentioned that the “Regulatory Lab for Trade Technology” is a really important platform. It's designed to boost innovation and test out modern digital solutions connected to trade and investment. This will definitely help make services more efficient and support the country's overall digital transformation efforts.
Digital Solutions
On their part, Vodafone Egypt's leaders showcased a range of digital solutions aimed at connecting trade-related entities and developing electronic services. They emphasized the company's strong commitment to supporting Egypt's efforts in digitization, digital transformation, and automating government services.
The discussions also touched upon opportunities for working together to automate the entire trade system and participate in the Foreign Trade Regulatory Lab, which the Ministry plans to launch in the near future.
