The Egyptian Cabinet Media Center recently shared an awareness video from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) across its social media platforms. This video highlights the most common online fraud methods and their dangers. It's all part of Egypt's big effort to better protect banking customers and boost digital awareness among citizens. This initiative is part of a larger campaign designed to teach the public about the newest types of cybercrimes and give them practical tips to keep their personal and financial information safe. In the video, Mustafa Khodr, Director General of the Central Administration for Combating Fraud and Financial Crimes at the CBE, explained that one of the most common tactics fraudsters use today is "social engineering." This is where scammers trick victims into giving up their information, either through phone calls pretending to update bank account details or text messages with fake links claiming to be about receiving shipments or pending services.
