du, a leading telecommunications and digital services provider, announced that its du Tech National Hypercloud platform has received official accreditation from the UAE Cyber Security Council. This makes it the first sovereign cloud system to be compliant and approved for use across both government and private sectors.

This accreditation confirms the platform's commitment to the highest national cybersecurity standards, including data localization and protection. This boosts trust among government entities and vital institutions and helps address challenges related to adopting cloud computing.

It also reflects the strong collaboration between local expertise, du Tech's advanced capabilities, and the UAE's strategic direction to enhance digital sovereignty.

Jasim Al Awadi, Chief Information and Communications Technology Officer at du, stated that this accreditation is a pivotal step towards strengthening digital sovereignty and cementing the UAE's leadership in cybersecurity. It sets a new standard for secure and sovereign cloud infrastructure, supporting organizations' digital transformation efficiently and securely.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, affirmed that this move is part of the Council's efforts to boost digital sovereignty and establish the nation's leadership in tackling cloud computing challenges. This is achieved by adopting new standards for secure cloud infrastructure and supporting digital transformation while preserving innovation and global connectivity.

The National Hypercloud platform meets the needs of organizations in healthcare, financial services, government, and critical infrastructure sectors. It does this by providing a local cloud system that offers high enterprise capabilities and full compliance with UAE cybersecurity frameworks.
