Bank Misr and Vodafone Business have signed a strategic cooperation protocol aimed at supporting entrepreneurs, small, medium, and micro-enterprises. They'll do this by providing innovative operational and financial solutions through Vodafone Business's digital platform, "Engez."
The signing ceremony was attended by Hossam El Din Abdel Wahab, Deputy CEO of Bank Misr; Engineer Mahmoud El Khatib, Vice President of the Business Sector at Vodafone Egypt; and Maged Abdallah, Head of the Small, Medium, and Micro-Enterprise and Microfinance Sector at Bank Misr, along with other leaders from both sides.
Integrated Financial and Digital Solutions
This collaboration comes as part of both parties' efforts to boost financial inclusion and support the growth of the SME sector. They're combining Bank Misr's banking expertise with the digital solutions offered by Vodafone Business's "Engez" platform.
The protocol includes making "Express Lending" available, along with a Digital Business Onboarding service for opening accounts electronically. This makes it easy for customers to access financing solutions and banking services, and benefit from special offers designed to help their businesses grow.
Targeting Vital Economic Sectors
This partnership aims to meet the needs of several key economic sectors. These include retail trade, healthcare (like pharmacies and clinics), manufacturing, services, tourism and hospitality, transportation, and real estate and construction. The goal is to improve their operational efficiency and help them with their expansion plans.
The partnership also involves launching a comprehensive banking and commercial package that brings together digital solutions and financial services into one seamless experience, helping businesses manage their operations more efficiently.
The collaboration allows "Engez" platform customers to open business accounts with preferential terms and get discounts on operating fees during the first year. This helps reduce operational costs, encourages business growth, and makes it easier for business owners to access formal banking services.
Bank Misr: Small Businesses are a Key Driver of Economic Growth
Hossam El Din Abdel Wahab, Deputy CEO of Bank Misr, stated that signing this protocol shows the bank's ongoing commitment to supporting the small, medium, and micro-enterprise sector. He emphasized that this sector is a main driver of economic growth and sustainable development.
He added that the bank pays great attention to this sector because of its role in increasing production, employment rates, and creating job opportunities. He affirmed Bank Misr's dedication to providing integrated financing solutions and diverse programs aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and project owners across various sectors.
He explained that the bank continues to expand its financing for this sector through its widespread branch network across different governorates. They also offer tailored financing programs to meet diverse customer needs, which supports the national economy and helps drive development.
He also pointed out that the bank provides non-financial services and technical consultations to support the growth of SMEs and enhance their competitiveness in the market.
Vodafone Business: Partnership Boosts Integration of Businesses into the Formal Economy
Engineer Mahmoud El Khatib, Vice President of the Business Sector at Vodafone Egypt, confirmed that this partnership reflects Vodafone Business's commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and SMEs. They do this by offering innovative tools and solutions that meet market needs.
He added that the cooperation with Bank Misr helps integrate SMEs into the formal economy and supports the creation of new job opportunities, thereby strengthening the entrepreneurial environment in the Egyptian market.
He explained that the partnership is a model for collaboration between the banking and technology sectors, aiming to accelerate the growth of SMEs. He noted that the "Engez by Vodafone Business" platform was designed to be a comprehensive digital platform that helps business owners simplify operational processes and manage their businesses more efficiently.
He stressed that the integration of digital solutions and financial services provides a more flexible and smooth experience, enabling business owners to make faster and more efficient decisions, and contributing to the growth and sustainability of their companies.
