The American company Patel Family Office and the Saudi group Abdel Hadi A. Al-Qahtani & Sons (AHQ), also known as Al-Qahtani Holding Group, have signed a $1 billion investment agreement. This deal is all about launching the AYARA hospitality platform, with the big goal of developing 50 business hotels across Saudi Arabia by 2029.
This agreement was officially signed during the FII PRIORITY Summit in Miami. The new platform aims to meet the rapidly growing demand for mid-cost business hotels in the Saudi market. This demand is soaring thanks to a quick increase in corporate activities, expanding infrastructure, and many regional company headquarters moving to the Kingdom.
Under this agreement, Patel Family Office will team up with ATQ Hospitality Group, which is part of AHQ, to launch and run the AYARA platform. They're planning to use a comprehensive approach that includes everything from land development and construction to outfitting and managing the hotels. This integrated model is designed to speed up project completion and keep costs down.
AYARA is specifically targeting business travelers, including corporate clients and consultants. The plan is to provide between 5,000 and 7,000 hotel rooms in major cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, as well as exciting new development areas such as NEOM and the Red Sea projects.
Patel Family Office will take the lead in managing the overall hotel strategy and operating the network. Meanwhile, AHQ will lend its support to the development operations, bringing its valuable local market expertise to the table. The partners also plan to collaborate with well-known international hotel brands to operate these new hotels.
This partnership couldn't come at a better time, as it perfectly aligns with Saudi Arabia's ambitious push to strengthen its tourism and business sectors under Vision 2030. This national vision aims to welcome over 150 million visitors annually and is set to benefit from the expected surge in demand as the Kingdom prepares to host major international events like Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup.
