She's stepping in as the Head of Content and Corporate Communications, where she'll be leading the company's communications strategy for both the Egyptian and Saudi Arabian markets. This exciting move comes after a remarkable 18-year journey at Ericsson. In her most recent positions there, she was the Head of External Communications and Regional Brand Director for the Middle East and Africa. During her time, she managed communications strategies and protected the company's corporate reputation across more than 100 markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Commenting on her transition to the new role, Randa El Sawi shared, "Leaving a company after nearly two decades is never an easy decision. Ericsson was more than just a workplace for me; it was a professional environment that shaped a significant part of my career, where I built lasting friendships and relationships." She added, "I'm really excited to start this new chapter with Khazna and contribute to their growth journey in the FinTech sector, boosting their efforts in digital transformation and financial inclusion." As the Head of Content and Corporate Communications at Khazna, El Sawi will be in charge of managing internal and external communications, media relations, leadership communication, and corporate social responsibility. She'll also be developing content strategies and managing the corporate reputation, all in line with the company's regional expansion plans. Randa El Sawi brings over 20 years of professional experience in corporate communications, public relations, and reputation management. Throughout her career, she's worked with several global companies, including Ericsson and Barclays Bank, before making the leap into the startup sector. El Sawi earned her Bachelor's degree in Media, with minors in Psychology and Political Science, from the American University in Cairo. She believes her journalism background played a key role in developing her approach to building professional relationships based on open communication and trust with various stakeholders. Beyond her corporate work, El Sawi is also an active consultant and trainer in communications. She's delivered training programs for leaders and executive teams on topics like media spokesperson preparation, enhancing professional presence on LinkedIn, effective communication, and personal brand building. She's also passionate about women's empowerment and boosting the presence of female leaders in the workplace. She believes that communications and public relations can help highlight inspiring female role models and challenge stereotypes. Additionally, she's a strong advocate for influencer marketing as a way to introduce these role models to new generations. In another area of her interests, El Sawi founded "Randa's Bedtime Stories" (حكايات راندا قبل النوم), a digital platform for children aged 4 to 10.
