Abd Elhameed Sharara: The Visionary Behind RiseUp, Connecting Startups and Investors

Amidst the rapid changes sweeping through the startup sector in Egypt and the wider Arab region in recent years, Abd Elhameed Sharara has emerged as a prominent entrepreneur. He's played a pivotal role in building a more connected and impactful entrepreneurial community by founding RiseUp, a company and platform that grew from a local idea into one of the largest entrepreneurship support platforms in the Middle East and North Africa.

Sharara's journey actually began far from the world of technology and investment. He graduated from Ain Shams University's Faculty of Law, but quickly gravitated towards community work and youth skill development. It was then that he discovered a significant gap within Egypt's startup environment, particularly the weak communication between entrepreneurs, investors, and support and funding institutions.
