Dr. Shehab Marzeban is truly one of the most influential people in Egypt's entrepreneurship ecosystem! He stands out as the Founder and Managing Partner of Camel Ventures, and he's also the CEO of DFin Holding, a company that specializes in creating digital finance solutions for startups and supporting the tech economy. Dr. Marzeban has an impressive academic background that blends computer science with finance. This unique combination has given him a comprehensive understanding of the technological and investment challenges that startups face: * He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from Cairo University. * He holds a PhD in Information Systems and Operations Research from the University of Cologne, Germany. * He completed post-doctoral research in Islamic Finance at Durham University in the UK. * He also participated in an Executive Program in Venture Capital at Haas University, California – Berkeley. Dr. Marzeban has successfully combined government work with private investment. He held leadership positions at Egypt's Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, including Undersecretary and Assistant Minister, where his responsibilities included supporting entrepreneurship and developing the startup environment. He also served as a consultant for the World Bank in finance and venture capital, and he played a role in establishing programs and initiatives to support entrepreneurs, such as: * Shekra Crowdfunding for collective funding. * Falak Startups and EFG-EV Fintech, which support startups and accelerator programs.
