Saudi-based Velents AI started its journey in the HR technology market before gradually redirecting its business model towards enterprise artificial intelligence. This transformation saw the company move from developing tools for recruitment automation to building a broader suite of solutions, including AI agents, knowledge management, document analysis, and programming interfaces. This shift is clearly based on a strong bet on developing technologies that understand the Arabic language and the needs of institutions and government entities in the region, while expanding their uses to cover sectors like banking, telecommunications, healthcare, education, real estate, and e-commerce.
From HRTech to Enterprise AI
Velents AI was founded in 2020 by Mohammed Jaber and Abdulaziz Al-Muhaidib. It began its operations in the HR technology (HRTech) field, targeting companies that deal with large numbers of job applicants. Its tools helped read and sort resumes, match candidate skills with available jobs, and conduct automated interviews and assessments.
As the company's operations evolved, it began to redefine its direction in 2023. The focus was no longer limited to applicant tracking systems, video interviews, and recruitment process automation. Instead, it expanded to developing “Agentic AI” solutions, which rely on AI agents capable of performing a range of tasks and managing processes within organizations.
Velents AI currently operates in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, and Oman, with its main activity concentrated in the Saudi market. Its business model includes five main product lines: “Velents Agent,” “Velents ATS,” “Velents Wisdom,” “SAFHA,” and “Velents APIs.”
5 Product Pathways
“Velents Agent,” or “Agent.sa,” stands out as one of the company's newest products. It's an AI agent designed to handle customer interactions and internal operations, whether through phone calls, WhatsApp, or text chats. It also tracks requests, analyzes data, performs certain operational tasks, and integrates with the organization's systems.
At the same time, the company maintains its core recruitment technology activity through “Velents ATS,” which covers all stages of the process, from reading and sorting resumes, matching candidates with jobs, all the way to interviews, assessments, and report generation.
Velents AI states that its recruitment solutions can help reduce costs by up to 80%. It also indicates the possibility of shortening the recruitment cycle in some cases to just 3 days compared to 39 days, in addition to supporting voice interviews in over 20 Arabic dialects.
The company's activity extends to knowledge management through “Velents Wisdom,” which allows organizations to interact with their databases and documents via a conversational interface. It handles PDF, Word, spreadsheets, and databases, and can be deployed either in the cloud or within the client's private infrastructure.
As for “SAFHA,” it focuses on understanding and analyzing documents, extracting data from various types of documents, including contracts, invoices, and financial statements. Meanwhile, “Velents APIs” allow for integrating the company's capabilities into products and systems developed by institutions and clients.
Betting on Arabic Language and Sovereign AI
The Arabic language represents one of the main pillars of Velents AI's strategy. The company states that its voice solutions support more than 20 dialects, including Saudi, Egyptian, and Kuwaiti. This expands its scope of use in sectors that rely on direct customer interaction, such as banks, telecommunications, e-commerce, real estate, automotive, healthcare, and government entities.
This approach is not only related to language but also extends to the concept of “Sovereign AI,” by enabling solutions to operate while keeping data within the country or within the client's private infrastructure.
The customer agreement published on the company's website indicates the possibility of hosting solutions via “Google Cloud – Dammam” in Saudi Arabia or running them within the client's “On-Premises” infrastructure. This model targets organizations that deal with sensitive data or are subject to local requirements related to data storage and processing location.
2025: Funding and Launch of “Smart Employee”
The year 2025 marked an important milestone in Velents AI's development. In October, the company announced the closing of a $1.5 million funding round, with participation from angel investors, including executives from “Google,” “BCG,” and other global companies, coinciding with the launch of “Agent.sa.”
This new round followed an undisclosed Seed funding round in December 2023, led by “A15” with participation from “Nibras Capital,” “AUC Venture Lab,” and local investors, in addition to an investment round from “Women Collective” in July 2024, the value of which was not disclosed.
In parallel with these investment moves, the company announced operational indicators for its solutions. These included processing over 6 million documents for a GCC government entity's archive, reducing operational costs by 88%, accelerating the sorting and processing of government job applications by 80%, and achieving 94% accuracy in sorting and analysis operations.
Velents AI also stated that one of its recruitment solutions achieved a candidate success rate of approximately 80%, contributing to the selection of 60 qualified candidates, and reducing the time required for screening and assessment to about 10 minutes instead of several days.
2026: Expanding Enterprise AI Scope
The year 2026 brought a new development in the company's trajectory. In June, Velents AI announced its joining of the “Claude Partner Network” affiliated with “Anthropic,” describing the step as the first of its kind for a Saudi and Arab tech company.
This step allows the company to leverage “Claude” models in developing solutions aimed at institutions and governments, in addition to training programs, technical support, specialized accreditations, and access to product updates. This integrates global AI models into the solutions Velents AI develops for the Arab market.
This path aligns with the company's focus on sovereign AI and local data, especially as it targets government entities, banking institutions, and sectors that deal with sensitive information.
Also in 2026, the company highlighted its collaboration with “Red Hat” as an “Independent Software Vendor – ISV,” an approach consistent with its ability to run AI solutions within the private infrastructure of organizations.
With its expanding product base, Velents AI no longer limits its applications to recruitment and human resources. Instead, it is expanding its use to include government, banking and financial services and insurance, healthcare and education, automotive and real estate and e-commerce, as well as customer service, sales, and call centers.
Thus, the company is now moving forward with a mix of recruitment automation solutions, AI agents, document intelligence, knowledge management, and APIs, leveraging its focus on the Arabic language and the needs of local institutions. This transformation sets Velents AI on a different path from its beginnings as a specialized HR technology platform, with enterprise AI now serving as the broader umbrella for its products and applications.
