Egypt's Tech Scene Soars: Millions Invested, Thousands Trained, Startups Empowered

As Egypt pushes to speed up its digital transformation, the Egyptian Cabinet has really stepped up its efforts to support the tech entrepreneurship scene. They see it as a key driver for economic growth, all part of the National AI Strategy 2030. This strategy aims to build an innovation-based economy and boost the role of startups in driving development.

The Information and Decision Support Center, which is part of the Cabinet, highlighted the great progress made in this area. They pointed out that Egypt successfully secured about $47.92 million in funding for 2025, a nice jump from $34.9 million in 2024. This clearly shows how quickly investments are flowing into the tech sector!

When it comes to supporting startups, 57 companies have been empowered. Plus, 100 graduation projects received support, and 5 research projects in electronics design and semiconductors got funding. This really shows a clear focus on boosting local tech manufacturing and strengthening our innovative capabilities.

International partnerships have also seen impressive growth. Global 500 invested $6 million in Egyptian startups, which then helped attract an additional $54 million in funding. These companies also created 1,300 job opportunities!

On the talent development front, around 14,400 young men and women were trained in freelancing skills. Even more impressively, over 62,000 citizens benefited from training and qualification services through the Digital Egypt Innovation Centers. There are 24 of these centers spread across 21 governorates, helping to expand digital services and reach more people.

Support efforts also directly reached entrepreneurs. About 7,146 entrepreneurs received support, and 961 startups across various tech fields got a boost. This led to 1,240 new job opportunities and the establishment of 132 new companies! It's all part of a comprehensive system designed to spark innovation and grow digital businesses.

These moves are part of a bigger strategy to connect scientific research with practical applications and to build skilled teams capable of developing innovative tech solutions. Ultimately, this supports Egypt's goal of becoming a regional hub for tech entrepreneurship.
