Egyptian health tech companies continue to attract investments, driven by the growing demand for advanced, low-cost diagnostic solutions, especially in markets with limited healthcare services. Egyptian company Reme-D, which specializes in developing and manufacturing molecular diagnostic solutions, announced the close of a $1.45 million Pre-Series A investment round. This round was led by Anara Impact Capital, with participation from Global Innovation Fund, Africa Health Ventures, and several other investors. The company was founded with the goal of making advanced diagnostic technologies available in Africa and other markets facing limited healthcare services. They develop accurate, rapid, low-cost, and temperature-stable molecular diagnostic tests for diseases including tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, and human papillomavirus (HPV). The company will use the proceeds from this investment round to expand its manufacturing capacity, enhance its regional presence, and broaden its product portfolio. They also plan to develop new tests for genetic diseases and cancer, and produce more temperature-stable tests to make them easier to use in remote areas.
