The startup ecosystem in Morocco is getting ready to welcome a new group into the Morocco Accelerator program! This comes after Plug and Play Africa, in partnership with Technopark Maroc, announced that applications are now open for the program's third cohort. This initiative is proudly supported by the Moroccan Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, and it's all part of the "Digital Morocco 2030" strategy, aiming to boost innovation and build a tech-driven economy. The launch of this new program iteration, set for October 2026, is designed to offer Moroccan startups a complete growth path. It will help them develop their business models, get them ready for investment, and open direct communication channels with investors, large corporations, and expert mentors both regionally and internationally. The program's continued success really shows a growing commitment to creating a more supportive environment for startups in Morocco. There's a clear need for tools that go beyond just traditional funding, including access to expertise, markets, and strategic partnerships that help companies move from their early stages to significant expansion and growth.
Over 80 Founders Benefited from Previous Cohorts
According to the organizers, the program has achieved some fantastic results in its previous cohorts. It has supported over 80 startup founders, hosted hundreds of mentorship sessions, and connected participating companies with a strong network of regional and international investors. The program also successfully organized its first "Corporate Day," bringing together more than 12 Moroccan companies. This event led to over 75 direct meetings between startups and private sector representatives. Plus, the participating startups managed to raise over $5 million in funding!Targeting Startups with Scalable Tech Solutions
The third cohort of the Morocco Accelerator is looking for startups that have a Moroccan founder or co-founder (or someone from the Moroccan diaspora abroad). These startups should already show early signs of growth and revenue, and they need to be developing scalable technological solutions, ready to jump into a new growth phase. Accepted participants will get access to specialized mentorship programs, amazing networking opportunities with investors and big corporations, and a chance to join a global innovation network. This will really boost their chances for expansion and building cross-market partnerships. What's more, the program offers the possibility to qualify for non-dilutive financing through the Startup Venture Building Program. This program is funded by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and managed by TAMWILCOM, providing startups with extra tools to support their growth stages without affecting their ownership structure.Related editorial
