Global platform YouTube made a huge leap in its advertising revenue during 2025, reaching an impressive $40.4 billion. This figure surpasses the combined revenues of four major traditional media companies: Disney, NBC, Paramount, and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD). This exciting news comes from a study by media firm MoffettNathanson, as reported by Digital Music News. These numbers cement YouTube's position as the world's largest media company by advertising revenue, clearly showing its dominance over traditional competitors in US television viewership. This achievement marks a significant shift compared to 2024. Back then, YouTube's ad revenue was $36.1 billion, just shy of the four companies' combined $41.8 billion. But in 2025, YouTube turned that gap into a clear lead, exceeding its main competitors' $37.8 billion. It's even getting close to the total traditional media revenue when you add Fox, which brings the total to $44.8 billion, with only a small difference.
