This new direction is led by Prashant Srivastava, Uber's Chief Technology Officer. He believes the next phase of AI will depend on systems with multiple specialized agents working together in what are called 'Agentic Pods,' rather than just one smart assistant. According to an interview with Business Insider, Uber has already started developing this model within its engineering teams. They expect it to become a key part of their software development environment in the coming years.
