UAE FinTech's Big Shift: Agentic AI Moves from Experiments to Live Operations

The UAE's FinTech sector is experiencing an exciting new phase of transformation as Agentic AI moves into live operational use. Its applications have now gone beyond limited testing, becoming a key part of how institutions plan to develop financial services and boost operational efficiency. However, the success of this shift really depends on companies building the right technical and governance frameworks to ensure these systems are used safely.

Experts at an event hosted by FinTech Hive at the DIFC Innovation Hub emphasized that FinTech institutions need to establish advanced technical practices. These practices will enable them to develop and widely deploy Agentic AI systems, especially as these technologies quickly transition from pilot projects to actual operational environments.

The event, titled "From Pilot to Production: Building the Foundations for Agentic AI in MENA FinTech," brought together leaders and experts from companies like JetBrains, Tabby, and Google for Developers. They gathered to discuss the challenges involved in expanding the use of Agentic AI within financial institutions.

Discussions covered the importance of developing modern engineering workflows, enhancing evaluation and testing processes, and managing the shift from traditional developer support tools to automated systems that can perform more independent tasks while still maintaining human oversight.
