Transmed, a leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company in the region, announced it's upgrading its cybersecurity operations center. They're doing this by deploying Palo Alto Networks' AI-powered Cortex platform through the Managed XSIAM (MSIAM) service, which is fully managed by Palo Alto Networks' Unit 42. This move aims to boost Transmed's ability to tackle increasingly complex cyber threats. By relying on artificial intelligence and automation technologies, they'll strengthen the security of their operations and support their plans to expand into markets across the region. Transmed represents several global brands, including Procter & Gamble, Mars, Clorox, Kellogg's, Ülker, and Danone, operating in the Levant, Gulf, Africa, and European markets. The company has enhanced its cybersecurity operations center's efficiency by running 24/7 managed security operations. This relies on the MSIAM service, which combines an AI-powered platform with the expertise of specialized cybersecurity teams. Transmed explained that this step is especially important in the fast-moving consumer goods sector. This industry is known for its rapid operational processes, complex supply chains, and multiple operational stages, all of which place increasing demands on cybersecurity systems. Dr. Ahmed Murad, Transmed's Head of Information Technology, stated that collaborating with Palo Alto Networks marks a significant leap forward for the company's cybersecurity framework. It involves establishing a next-generation cybersecurity operations center that aligns with their growth and expansion plans. He added, "By leveraging the Managed XSIAM (MSIAM) service, fully managed by Unit 42, we've been able to automate cybersecurity operations and boost our capabilities in threat detection and response. Our cybersecurity team is now better equipped to adopt a proactive protection approach, securing over 1,600 endpoints across our growing markets and operations in the region." The company noted that in just four months, it successfully transformed its cybersecurity operations by implementing the Managed XSIAM service, managed by Unit 42 experts. This led to the creation of a fully managed, 24/7 cybersecurity operations center, reduced operational complexities, and enhanced protection levels. This solution combines continuous monitoring, proactive threat detection, and automated response capabilities within an integrated security system. Unit 42 experts continuously monitor the digital environment and respond quickly to security incidents around the clock. This has strengthened Transmed's cybersecurity team's ability to efficiently manage incidents and address emerging vulnerabilities before they impact business operations. Samer Al-Qudsi, Regional Vice President for Palo Alto Networks in the Gulf and North Africa region, commented that Transmed's experience in implementing the MSIAM service reflects the ability of companies in the region to use AI-powered automation to develop cybersecurity systems and support growth plans. He added that the fast-moving consumer goods sector is one of the most demanding in terms of security due to its extensive supply chains and distributed operational processes. He clarified that protecting over 50 offices, distribution centers, and factories across 14 countries requires advanced capabilities for continuous threat detection and response. He also pointed out that implementing the automated platform in just four months enabled Transmed to reduce complex cyber risks and enhance its proactive, AI-powered protection approach, thereby supporting business continuity in both the logistics and fast-moving consumer goods sectors.
