Tern Rewards: UAE Startup Turns Rent Payments into Valuable Rewards

While many FinTech companies are racing to create new tools for managing daily spending, Tern Rewards decided to enter one of the most stable and important financial areas in people's lives: the residential rental market. They're doing this with a model that combines digital payment solutions with loyalty and rewards programs. The company was founded in 2024 by Saeed Al Sayed and Mohammed Cheito, and is set to officially launch its platform in the UAE market in 2025. Their goal is to transform the traditional rent payment experience into a tool that gives users extra value for one of their biggest annual expenses. Tern Rewards has introduced a fresh model to the UAE real estate market. It lets tenants pay their rent using credit cards and earn reward points that can be redeemed at a wide network of brands and services. This model clearly positions the company at the intersection of FinTech (Financial Technology) and PropTech (Property Technology). Tern Rewards is tackling a common issue in the Gulf rental market, where payments often still rely on checks or bank transfers. By digitizing payments, the platform offers greater flexibility for tenants, while also providing landlords with more regular and transparent cash flows.
