TechGirls: Empowering Young Women to Become Global Tech Leaders

In a world seeing rapid advancements and big changes in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), the TechGirls program stands out as a leading international platform. Its goal is to prepare teenage girls from all over the world with the technical and scientific skills they need to compete and innovate in the global technology market. TechGirls was launched with support from the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. It's a summer exchange program that lasts several weeks in the United States. The program offers a complete experience that includes: * Hands-on workshops in areas like Artificial Intelligence, programming, and engineering, helping participants develop advanced technical skills. * Practical training and field visits to top tech companies, giving girls a real look at the work environment and innovation opportunities. * A direct cultural and social experience through interacting with host families and local communities, which helps them understand cultural diversity and broaden their personal horizons. After the summer exchange, the program continues with a seven-month mentorship phase. This ensures the positive impact on participants lasts and empowers them to share their experiences and knowledge with their local communities. Working with Virginia Tech University, the girls receive advanced training at a STEM camp, where they apply their new skills to real-world projects. The program also includes field trips to major American cities like Austin, Seattle, and Denver, with job shadowing activities to see the actual work environment in big tech companies. This gives the girls a true taste of the job market and its future needs.
