SUTech's TechTank 2026 Helps School Students Turn Bright Ideas into Real Projects!

Al Suwaidi University of Technology - Polytechnic Egypt (SUTech) recently hosted the exciting final event for the second annual TechTank competition, with support and participation from the popular Shark Tank Egypt program. Qualified students from various schools presented their final pitches to a specialized judging panel. Capital International School proudly walked away with a 150,000 EGP prize for presenting the best idea that could truly be turned into a practical business project. This year's competition saw an incredible turnout, with nearly 300 innovative projects submitted by students from 100 schools across Egypt! These projects went through rigorous elimination rounds, which narrowed the field down to 24 schools for the semi-finals, before the top 8 schools were chosen to compete in the grand finale. The judging panel was made up of some of Egypt's most prominent industry and business leaders. This included Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy, who is the Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees; Ayman Abbas, Chairman of El Nas Hospital; and Eng. Abdullah Sallam, the Managing Director and CEO of Madinet Masr. Adding to the expertise, specialists from global organizations like Artistco, ExxonMobil Egypt, Dorra Group, ACT, and SAP also oversaw the evaluation stages, ensuring a high standard of assessment. Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy shared his thoughts, saying: "At SUTech, we truly believe that innovation is the cornerstone of our future. We're dedicated to empowering students to transform their brilliant ideas into projects that can actually work. TechTank is a fantastic platform that connects the creativity of our youth with what the job market really needs, perfectly aligning with Egypt Vision 2030. We are incredibly proud of the outstanding quality of our participants and can't wait to see their ideas grow into successful projects that boost our national economy." Hanan El Rihany, CEO of El Sewedy (EDTECH), highlighted that the competition aims to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. She emphasized: "This second edition showed remarkable improvement in the quality of the projects. Having experts from the program and representatives from international companies present also provided invaluable practical experience, which really helped students develop their ideas and sharpen their skills." She added: "We are confident that TechTank will inspire a whole new generation of innovators who can turn ideas into tangible solutions and truly make a mark on the future of industry and technology."
