Silicon Badia is getting ready to launch an exciting new investment fund! This fund will focus on supporting Series A startups, building on their past successes and expanding their investment portfolio even further.
The company has a smart strategy: they look for promising, low-cost markets like Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Jordan. Then, they help these companies grow and reach high-value, liquid markets such as the United States, Europe, and the GCC countries.
Hussam Shafiq, a partner at Silicon Badia, shared that the company's vision is all about creating an investment and technology bridge between the East and West. They're leveraging their impressive nearly 15 years of experience managing diverse investment funds, which dates back to 2011 and 2012.
Silicon Badia's philosophy is to connect emerging markets with advanced ones. Right from the start, they launched two parallel funds: one for investing in the United States and another for the Middle East and North Africa region. This approach has led to strong results, earning them a ranking among the top 10% globally when compared to benchmark indices.
The current fund is quite substantial, totaling $55 million. So far, it has invested in 11 technology companies spread across Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia.
Even though the fund is only in its sixth year, Silicon Badia has already successfully exited two investments from its portfolio. This really shows their ability to deliver early returns for investors and strengthens their track record in technology investment across the region.
