SAL Saudi Logistics Soars: Unpacking Its Impressive H1 2026 Financial Growth

The logistics sector in Saudi Arabia continued its strong performance during the first half of 2026, driven by increased demand for shipping services and companies expanding their offerings. In this positive environment, SAL Saudi Logistics Services Company achieved remarkable growth in both revenues and profits, thanks to the robust performance of its cargo ground handling and logistics divisions. SAL Saudi Logistics Services announced its preliminary financial results for the six-month period ending June 30, 2026. The company saw impressive growth in revenues and profits, supported by the strong showing of its cargo ground handling and logistics sectors. This was further boosted by the continuous expansion of its service portfolio, higher shipping volumes, and better utilization rates for its warehouses. The company's revenues for the first half of 2026 reached approximately 957.9 million Saudi Riyals, a significant jump from 778 million Riyals during the same period in 2025, marking a 23.1% growth. SAL explained that this growth was primarily fueled by the strong performance of its cargo ground handling sector, which saw its revenues increase by 24.5% year-on-year. This improvement came from continuously enhancing the range of services offered and the quality of revenues, alongside a 3.4% rise in shipment volumes compared to the previous year's similar period. Additionally, the logistics sector recorded a 15.6% growth in revenues. This was driven by the company's expansion of its service portfolio, a more diverse customer base, and a notable increase in the utilization rates of its logistics warehouse spaces. Net profit for the first half of 2026 climbed by 10.4%, reaching 347.9 million Saudi Riyals, up from 315.3 million Riyals in the same period last year. The company attributed this excellent performance to improved operational efficiency and sustained revenue growth in both the cargo ground handling and logistics sectors, which directly contributed to the strong financial results for the first half of the year. Gross profit also increased to 544 million Riyals, compared to 438.1 million Riyals in the first half of 2025, showing a 24.2% growth. Operating profit rose to 384 million Riyals, up from 337.3 million Riyals, an increase of 13.8%. The company continued its strong growth into the second quarter of 2026, with revenues reaching 512.1 million Saudi Riyals, a 30% increase from 394 million Riyals in the corresponding quarter last year. SAL clarified that this performance was a result of a 29.3% year-on-year growth in cargo ground handling revenues. This was supported by a quick recovery in shipment volumes following temporary geopolitical disruptions that affected regional air supply chains, along with an improved shipment mix during the quarter, all of which helped boost revenues and enhance the company's operational performance.
