Saudi company Ryme, which specializes in AI solutions for operational sites, has successfully closed a seed investment round worth over $2 million. This move really highlights the growing interest in "field AI" solutions and how quickly they're being adopted in real-world work environments across Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region. Sidra Ventures led this investment round, with Athla Investments and Unity Invest Partners also participating, alongside a great group of angel investors. The main goal of this funding is to help Ryme further develop its platform and speed up its expansion within the Saudi market. This latest round is actually a continuation of Ryme's funding journey, which started with a pre-seed round that Sidra Ventures also led. It really shows the lead investor's ongoing confidence in the company, especially after all the progress Ryme has made in expanding its operations and getting its solutions out there. Ryme has done an amazing job connecting over 6,000 cameras to AI agents through its platform. These are spread across more than 2,000 operational sites for big companies in the retail and services sectors throughout the Gulf countries. This makes Ryme one of the fastest-growing field AI platforms in the region, according to their company statement. What Ryme offers is a platform that lets organizations build and run AI agents directly inside their stores, branches, and service centers. The cool part is that data gets processed and decisions are made right there on-site, so there's no need to send everything to far-off data centers. The platform uses "AI of Things" (AIoT) technologies. These connect AI agents to cameras and sensors, allowing them to combine visual data with sensor data. This combination then gets turned into immediate operational decisions and responses, which really helps boost how efficient operations are, makes sure procedures are followed better, and cuts down on waste and losses. Mohammed Al-Murshidi, a Co-founder at Ryme, mentioned that in the coming phase, AI will move beyond traditional applications and into actual work sites. This means systems will be able to interact and make decisions directly where the operations are happening. He added that "edge computing" is super important for running these field AI agents. It offers really fast data processing, makes it easy to integrate with different systems, and allows for instant responses to events. He also pointed out that Ryme aims to provide a secure and easy-to-use platform that handles the entire system deployment and management for its customers. Abdullah Al-Munaif, a Co-founder at Sidra Ventures, shared that this investment fits into their firm's venture studio model. Sidra Ventures has been with Ryme since its very early days, helping them develop their product and get it to market. He explained that in today's AI market, competition isn't just about the models themselves anymore. It's about how quickly you can get smart decisions to the operational sites the moment something happens. He highlighted that many organizations already have a huge infrastructure of cameras and sensors, and turning these into a smart operational intelligence system is one of the biggest opportunities ahead. He also noted that Ryme's rapid expansion to over 2,000 operational sites in such a short time clearly shows the growing demand for field AI solutions. Ryme plans to use this new funding to strengthen its presence in the Saudi market, speed up the development of its platform, and help organizations build AI applications that are reliable, scalable, and easy to use. This effort supports the broader adoption of AI solutions in everyday work environments and perfectly aligns with the goals of Saudi Arabia's National Strategy for Data and AI and Vision 2030. Ryme was founded in Riyadh in 2024 by Mohammed Al-Murshidi and Aref Al-Otaibi. The company focuses on developing field AI solutions that use edge computing and AIoT technologies, with the goal of enabling organizations to run AI agents directly within their various operational sites.
