Beyond helping students and new doctors save money, it also plays a vital community role by providing affordable or donated home medical equipment to patients, promoting reuse and sustainability.

ReMed Launches: Egypt's First Digital Platform for Affordable Used Medical Devices

Students from the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) Department at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Ahram Canadian University, have launched an innovative electronic application called "ReMed." This platform is set to be the first integrated digital hub aimed at making it easier to exchange high-quality used medical devices and supplies, while also offering technical support services to various groups within the medical sector.

The application's main goal is to support students in practical fields, especially those studying dentistry and physical therapy, by providing expensive study tools and equipment at affordable prices. It also offers an economic solution for newly graduated doctors by making used medical devices and supplies available that are both reasonably priced and efficient, helping them set up their private clinics at a lower cost.

ReMed's community role extends to providing home medical devices to patients at affordable prices or through donation. This significantly boosts the chances of utilizing medical equipment and effectively recycling its use.

What makes ReMed special is its dedicated services that protect user rights. A key feature is providing maintenance and technical inspection services for devices to ensure their quality and efficiency before use. It acts as a trusted intermediary, guaranteeing the best quality at the lowest possible cost. Plus, it helps reduce waste and supports sustainability, perfectly aligning with Egypt's 2030 Vision.

The application offers a flexible user experience that includes options for buying, selling, and donating, along with an evaluation and technical inspection system to ensure all equipment meets the required standards.

The dedicated team behind this project included Esraa Mohamed, Janna Ashraf, Faiza Ibrahim, Monia Ehab, Fathy Shireen, and Ziad Tamer. They worked under the supervision of Dr. Hala Rashad and Dr. Soha Megahed.
