Manal Awad, the Minister of Local Development and Environment, announced the launch of Egypt's first integrated smart aerial monitoring system using drones! This exciting move is part of the government's push to improve governance and use modern technology to support local administration. The Minister also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between her ministry and Drone Tech company. This partnership will establish and operate the system, which is powered by artificial intelligence and geospatial analysis, helping to improve monitoring, oversight, and decision-making across all governorates. She emphasized that this project aims to create a comprehensive system for real-time monitoring and analysis. This will significantly boost the efficiency of environmental and urban oversight, making it easier to make accurate and immediate decisions, which will ultimately improve the quality of services for citizens. Minister Awad explained that the system will cover a wide range of tasks, including tracking building violations, monitoring waste and the "black cloud" phenomenon, and detecting encroachments on natural reserves. It will also support tree-planting projects under the "100 Million Trees" initiative, as well as overseeing utilities, services, and crisis management through instant monitoring. She added that this project marks a significant leap forward in oversight operations. It truly reflects the state's commitment to digital transformation and achieving the goals of "Egypt Vision 2030" by making the most of modern technologies to enhance government performance and maintain the civilized appearance of the governorates. On his part, Mohamed Shehata Youssef, Chairman of Drone Tech, mentioned that the project will be rolled out in geographical phases, covering various governorates across the Republic. This phased approach will be based on implementation priorities, further enhancing the efficiency of monitoring and oversight in crucial areas.
