Orange has announced the launch of the 16th edition of its Social Venture Prize in the Middle East and Africa. This initiative aims to support entrepreneurial innovation that creates social and economic impact, transforming promising ideas into tangible, real-world projects. Applications are open from March 26 to May 10, 2026. Entrepreneurs in all countries where Orange operates are invited to submit their projects through the digital platform, giving them a chance to compete and showcase their ability to turn ideas into practical solutions that improve community life.
Supporting Technological Innovation
The new edition focuses on startups that use modern technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Cybersecurity, aiming to create a long-term positive impact on the environment and society. The prize also prioritizes projects in agriculture, education, health, and environment, recognizing these as essential sectors capable of driving real transformation and accelerating sustainable development in the region.
More Than Just a Cash Prize
This prize is more than just a financial reward; it's a platform designed to accelerate the growth of startups. Winners receive support from Orange Digital Centers, along with strategic partnerships that open new markets and facilitate access to essential funding and expertise to boost the sustainability of their projects. Since its launch, the prize has received over 17,600 applications, making it one of the most important initiatives encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa and the Middle East, and uncovering new talents in the digital and social economy.
The competition is divided into two main stages:
National Stage: This begins in each participating country, where projects are evaluated and winners are selected by a local jury comprising experts and entrepreneurs connected to the Orange ecosystem.
International Stage: Winning projects qualify to compete for the International Grand Prize and the International Women's Prize. A meticulous evaluation is conducted by a committee of experts and prominent figures in technology and entrepreneurship to identify the most innovative projects with the highest social impact.
Tangible Incentives
Winners receive significant funding to develop their projects and enhance their impact, either through the Digital Centers or via cash prizes for the top three winners and the International Women's Prize. This reflects Orange's commitment to providing real tools to transform ideas into successful and sustainable projects.
Orange's Commitment to Driving Development
Through this prize, Orange reaffirms its commitment to supporting youth, fostering innovation, and encouraging inclusive economic development. It continues to identify key players in tomorrow's economy and stimulate social and technological advancement in the region.
