The "NilePreneurs" initiative is a national program launched by the Central Bank of Egypt. Its goal is to support and empower entrepreneurs, startup owners, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It does this by offering a comprehensive package of free services through 6 main programs that cover all stages of business establishment and growth.
This initiative is a collaboration between the Central Bank of Egypt and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). This partnership aims to boost the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt, encouraging innovation and economic growth.
The Six Programs of the "NilePreneurs" Initiative
1. Awareness and Training (NilePreneurs Professionals)
This program aims to build capabilities and spread an entrepreneurial culture among students, graduates, entrepreneurs, and small business owners through specialized training and qualification programs.
2. Business Incubators (INCUBATE)
This program offers comprehensive support for startups by incubating them and providing the necessary technical and financial assistance to kickstart their operations. It also helps with marketing products and services through a wide network of experts and partners.
3. Innovation Support (Innovation & Design Technologies)
This focuses on supporting innovation, research, and development processes. This includes designing prototypes, developing new products, and turning ideas into viable projects.
4. Business Accelerator (NilePreneurs Accelerator)
This program aims to boost the efficiency of startups and enhance their readiness to attract investors. It achieves this by collaborating with specialized experts and a network of investors across various fields.
5. Competitiveness Support (Compete)
This works to enable SMEs to improve their market performance by supporting innovation, technology transfer, and strengthening value chains. It also prepares them for export and boosts their competitive edge.
6. Business Development Service Centers (BDS Hubs)
This provides free non-financial and consulting services aimed at supporting the creation of new projects, improving the performance of existing companies, and helping them grow, in addition to facilitating access to funding.
