The National Bank of Oman (NBO) has wrapped up the second cohort of its FinTech accelerator program, celebrating the graduation of six startups. These companies specialize in areas like wealth management, digital payments, AI for credit assessment, personal finance management, and fraud prevention. This move aims to speed up financial innovation and support digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman, while also offering investment opportunities for participating companies worth up to $1.8 million. The program concluded with a "Demo Day" event, which saw representatives from regulatory and government bodies, the Central Bank of Oman, and financial institutions in attendance, alongside investors and leaders from the entrepreneurship ecosystem. During this event, the startups showcased their innovative tech solutions to potential investors and partners. NBO explained that over several months, the program provided a comprehensive system of mentorship, guidance, and development. This allowed the startups to test their products, work with financial sector experts, and benefit from direct connections with investors and financial institutions, all before presenting their solutions at the final event.
