Meta's Big AI Shift: Employees Become 'AI Builders'

In a bold strategic move, Meta Platforms announced a comprehensive restructuring of its workforce, shifting its focus towards what the company calls "AI Builders." This effort aims to boost productivity and develop products faster and more efficiently.

Jobs Transform Towards AI

According to an internal company memo, these changes include updating employee titles and roles, especially within the Reality Labs unit, to directly link them with artificial intelligence technologies. Among the new titles are “AI Builder” and **“AI Pod Lead,”** where small teams called Pods work to achieve specific goals using AI tools.

The main goal of this direction is to increase the speed of product development and reduce the need for traditional organizational structures. This allows tasks that once required large teams to be accomplished by fewer AI-supported employees.
