Lean Technologies and Ziina have announced the launch of the UAE's first one-click payment experience directly from bank accounts, powered by the open finance ecosystem. This move aims to speed up the shift towards digital payments and make digital financial services much easier to use.
This new service uses Lean Technologies' deposit solution, allowing Ziina app users to securely link their bank accounts just once. After that, they can top up their digital wallets directly and quickly with a single click, without needing to re-enter login details or visit banking portals for every transaction.
Boosting Direct Bank Account Payments
The companies shared that launching this service is a big step forward in developing payment solutions that use bank accounts. It offers a smoother experience for users and cuts down on the complexities often found with traditional transfer methods.
Omar Hamada, VP of Sales at Lean Technologies, explained that while direct bank account payment services have been available in the UAE for years, they were mostly limited to one-time, instant payments.
He added that this collaboration with Ziina clearly shows how the current open finance infrastructure can support smooth, recurring payments. This paves the way for these types of transactions to become a part of everyday life for both consumers and businesses.
A Faster Experience for Digital Wallet Users
Meanwhile, Talal Touqan, Co-founder and Head of Engineering at Ziina, mentioned that funding digital wallets is one of the most popular services on their platform. This led the company to develop a faster and more efficient way to meet user needs.
He pointed out that the new service will make managing and transferring money much easier, which will improve customer experience and boost the adoption of digital payments across the country.
Partnership Announced at a Special Event
The partnership was announced during "Pay by Bank: The Default Way to Pay," an event hosted by Lean Technologies. Over 150 leaders from banking, FinTech, commerce, and regulatory sectors attended.
The event explored the future of direct bank account payments in the UAE and the wider region. It also highlighted the exciting opportunities that open finance technologies offer for developing digital financial services and boosting innovation in the payments sector.
Lean Strengthens Its Presence in Financial Infrastructure
Lean Technologies is a leading financial infrastructure provider in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. They offer businesses a single platform to access financial data and process payments.
Since its founding in 2019, Lean Technologies has supported over 400 organizations, processed financial transactions worth more than $5 billion, successfully linked over two million bank accounts, and facilitated more than three million account verification processes.
This new partnership between Lean Technologies and Ziina really shows how quickly open finance solutions are being adopted in the UAE. It's all about making digital payments more efficient and supporting the growth of the FinTech ecosystem across the region.
