Egyptian Startup Nexguards Joins Silicon Valley's Kernel Camp, Eyeing Global Expansion

Propeller, a venture capital firm specializing in AI and digital infrastructure investments, announced the successful completion of the first edition of Kernel Camp. This intensive residency program, tailored for deep tech startups, was hosted in Silicon Valley, USA. The program saw five startups from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Jordan participate. They completed an eight-week program in the San Francisco Bay Area, which included intensive development programs, mentorship sessions with AI experts, and opportunities to network with global investors. Among the participating companies, the Egyptian startup Nexguards stood out. Nexguards is an AI-powered platform focused on cybersecurity awareness and human risk management. It aims to address the shortcomings of traditional training methods, which it describes as rigid and unable to keep pace with modern AI-driven cyberattacks. Nexguards offers solutions that include customized, multi-scenario cyberattack simulations, along with adaptive training programs based on open-source data, real-time threat intelligence, and job-specific training content. The goal is to prepare employees to handle modern cyberattacks that utilize AI technologies. Organizations use the Nexguards platform to reduce the risk of phishing attacks, strengthen human defenses, and build resilient and scalable cybersecurity capabilities. During the program, the startup founders met with a number of senior executives and investors in the technology and AI sectors through a series of weekly mentorship dinners. These dinners included leaders from global companies and organizations such as Airbnb, Meta, OpenAI, JP Morgan, Cartesia, Rho, Lux Capital, Mozilla Ventures, Plug and Play, and Mentors Fund. The founders also participated in a special event hosted by Silicon Valley Bank, which allowed them to present their projects to a group of angel investors. Additionally, field visits were organized to several technology companies in Silicon Valley, aiming to provide insights into the work cultures and operational environments behind some of the world's leading AI and software companies.
