Egypt Renews Hosting of Regional Postal Training Center for Arab and African Nations

The Cabinet, during its 85th meeting chaired by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, approved a draft presidential decree. This decree greenlights Annex No. (1) to the cooperation agreement between the Egyptian National Post Organization and the Universal Postal Union. This decision is all about renewing Cairo's role as the host for the Regional Postal Training Center, which was set to conclude its operations on December 31, 2025. It also establishes a formal framework for setting up and running the center at the organization's headquarters in Cairo. The center's main goal is to back the Universal Postal Union's policy of cooperation for development and technical assistance, aiming to boost the technical skills of postal employees in member countries. As an advanced learning platform, the center offers postal forums, workshops, and specialized training programs for English-speaking African nations and the Arab region. From 2022 to 2025, Egyptian Post, in partnership with the Universal Postal Union's International Bureau, hosted 10 training programs. These programs benefited 558 trainees, including 72 from African countries and 486 from Arab countries, representing 19 Arab nations and 27 African nations. It's worth noting that the Universal Postal Union's budget covers the financial costs of organizing these programs, while the Egyptian National Post Organization is responsible for providing a suitable venue for the training activities. A significant number of Egyptian Post employees, along with trainees from Arab and African countries, have benefited from these programs, which really helps improve postal performance across the region.
