Egypt Joins Global ISO Program to Boost AI Policies and Standards

Egypt, represented by its Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Egyptian General Organization for Standardization and Quality, is actively participating in the second phase of a global program. This program focuses on building capabilities in AI policies and standards and is organized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The events are taking place from April 20 to 24 in Singapore. This participation is part of a rapidly growing international trend to improve AI governance and create standard frameworks for how AI is used. All of this helped create a solid knowledge base for the current phase. Now, the second phase is diving deeper into practical application. It's focusing on the technical aspects and regulatory policies connected to AI. This will happen through a workshop held at the same time as meetings of the joint technical committee between ISO and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This setup is great for sharing experiences and staying updated on the latest international developments in this exciting field. Egypt's involvement in this program really shows the country's ongoing commitment to actively help shape international AI standards. It also highlights Egypt's goal to learn from global experiences to develop its own national policies.
