The Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) initiative, part of the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Philanthropy, has announced its selection of the top 100 African entrepreneurs for the 2026 edition of the competition. This impressive group was chosen from over 24,000 applications submitted by entrepreneurs across the African continent.
Egypt showed a strong presence on the list, with 15 entrepreneurs making the cut. This places Egypt at the forefront, tied with Nigeria and Kenya, as the countries with the most representation in this stage of the competition.
These qualified entrepreneurs will continue their journey in the competition, hoping to reach the top 20, and then the top 10 entrepreneurs in Africa, to win prizes and grants totaling an impressive $1.5 million.
The list of qualified Egyptian entrepreneurs includes: Ahmed Ghoneim, founder of UMAMI E-Learning Solutions; Ahmed Shaaban, founder of Simplex CNC; Alaa Afifi, founder of Bekia; Farah Amara, founder of FreshSource; Hazem El Tawwab, founder of ReNile; Mohamed Gawish, founder of iSchool; Mohamed Amr, founder of Green Turbo; and Mohamed Salah, founder of 5 Quarters.
Also on the list are: Mona El Adawy, founder of GeoEnergy; Mostafa Abdel Latif, founder of eyouth; Nour El Assal, founder of Tagaddod; Nour El Din Qassem, founder of ZEE; Omar Fahmy, founder of Shunah For Agricultural Investments; Salma Tamam, founder of REME-D; and Shorouk Alaa El Din, founder of Career180.
