Karim Maghli: Unexpected Resignations Often Signal Deeper Company Problems

Karim Maghli, an expert in human resources and recruitment, shared his thoughts, saying that resigning from a job without another offer ready isn't necessarily a reckless move anymore, as it might have been seen in the past. Instead, he believes it often sends a clear message about a deeper issue within the workplace. Maghli explained on his LinkedIn page that an employee who decides to leave their job without moving to another one isn't usually just looking for a better opportunity. More often, they've reached a point of discomfort or feel a lack of belonging in their current work environment. He emphasized, "No one resigns without a clear reason." He added that these reasons could be linked to a company's culture changing for the worse, new managers being hired who aren't good at dealing with employees or utilizing existing talent, or the work environment becoming draining, sapping employees' energy, motivation, and self-worth. The HR expert stressed that company leaders should take these types of resignations very seriously. They aren't just isolated incidents; they could be an early warning sign of a bigger problem in the workplace that hasn't been noticed in meetings or internal reports.
